Day 8 in New York, 3rd January 07

It's a rest and relax, stay-in day for me today; went about NYC the past seven days, taken snapshots amounting up to 1.01GB/700 plus photos. hahah that amount makes me seem so touristy, I admit I was. How else to capture moments of your experience through the lens and have it with you as still images which can bring about words, emotions and sometimes indescribable reactions to those who were there. That's the wonder of the camera I feel. Yet on the other hand, it could be seen as being tourist like where you're concerned only with the beautiful, the scenic landscape and not truly partaking in the place of visit. Well for me, it's a balance to strike between the two. The human memory fails; the pictures bring the memories from graveyard to striking, alive and "real" in the mind. For that I appreciate the wonder of camera, photos and technology.

Day 0 to New York from my home, 27th December 06

Thank you cheryl & kelvin for coming down to my place, you blessed me with goodie bag, I brought every single food u gave me in my luggage! Heh am sure thinking of you guys when I eat it.

Thank you my lovely babes for coming down to my place to celebrate together our belated Christmas gathering!! and actually more so, you guys helped the sick & grouchy me to repack my luggage. Hahahah I know I brought nonsense and more stuff than I need, horrendous me didn't remember what I brought with me. I need a pair of leather gloves, heh only realized that it's in my grey luggage today (Day 8 in NY and am leaving to Austin)! Shit la all the time my hands been freezing in the cold. urgh.

Oh yes thanks grace & jia for rolling my clothing. nise for her pretty love gift, been wearing it since u gave me, and the rest for their contribution in lessening the luggage load. Love you dearies, and cheers to a beautiful reunion picture!! Though it's been a rough ride for us as a gang with few meetups a year, let's come together closer this coming new year 2007, can we??



Thank you damien for bringing down the medicine to me in the afternoon. I ate it regularly while I was on the plane. Slept and popped the pills. Thank God by the time I reached Detroit, after 20 plus hours in the journey, I got better, the medicine worked! =)

Thank you dad for spending the whole day with me till you send me off at the airport, and for my little sister, who said she didn't mind packing my luggage (when it's all done) so she could share the 'angbao'(a token for my trip) I got from a friend's mum. How loving can my sister get huh??? Okay credits to you for staying up till 6am to send me off knowing u can be sucha pig.

Last but not least, thank you mum and whee!! I appreciate all the fussing around me, trying to lock up my luggage (think I should rid it here & get a new one, too much trouble), making sure I have everything in place, nothing less or more.



You guys made my departure possible and a smooth one. I didn't want to leave soon, Christmas just started and I'd to pack and go. Oh well, I'm sure glad I chose the earlier flight (27th Dec) when I bought the ticket. I had just one week in New York! Just the time enough to see all NYC has got to offer.

Happy to be arriving NY soon and finally that's the last flight after almost a day in a confined plane.






Seated ready to fly off, an announcement came on, 'we're having a problem with our system, we'll depart in about 15 mins'. now that didn't happen, I sat in the plane for an hour before it set off. wah I was panicking, andre was gonna pick me up at JFK airport, if I'm late by more than an hour, will he wait or decide to leave??? Not a tasteful thought knowing I've got 2 luggages that's huge and heavy and I know nuts bout NY. =(
